KWB lets 17,000 sq ft of office space in Solihull to top 10 IT service co
The move to T3 will enable the Midlands regional office of Steria UK, which is currently located in Compton House, 2300 The Crescent at Birmingham Business Park, to achieve far greater workplace efficiencies due to T3’s large open plan office floor plates and highly efficient working environment.
A multinational information technology services company, with 20,000 people across 16 countries, Steria was attracted to the offices at Trinity Park due to their adjacency to Birmingham International Train Station, Birmingham Airport and J6 of the M42.
The development of Resorts World Birmingham, a £150m integrated leisure and entertainment complex which is due to complete next year on the neighbouring NEC site, will provide a wealth of additional amenities, including a huge range of restaurants, bars, hotel and conference facilities, and retail outlets.
Commenting on the office space transaction, Mark Robinson, Partner at KWB office property specialists, said:
“We are delighted to have secured Steria into T3 offices close to Birmingham Airport. The floorplate is one of the largest available within the M42 corridor and this will deliver Steria a highly efficient occupation. T3 will provide Steria with much greater communication between the different business units that will now be housed all on one office floor.
“Historically, we have experienced strong demand for Trinity Park due to its proximity to Birmingham International Train Station, but with the development of the Resorts World scheme and next month’s opening of the runway extension at Birmingham Airport, which will directly service the Far East and the West Coast of America, we anticipate this area to experience further increased demand.”
Having completed 60% by square footage of the transactions for office space in Solihull and the M42 corridor in quarter 1 this year already, the office letting at T3 reflects KWB’s ongoing success in the area, following last month’s lettings at FORE offices Solihull to UTC and eTech totalling 36,000 sq ft. The second quarter is proving to be equally active for KWB’s out-of-town commercial property team.
Working jointly with Gerald Eve commercial property agents, KWB has assigned the lease on the ground floor of T3 to Steria until December 2018. Steria was represented by Vail Williams.
KWB is also instructed to market Steria’s existing 33,000 sq ft of office space atCompton House offices on Birmingham Business Park.
