High quality offices in the heart of Kidderminster snapped up by three new occupiers
Elgar House was originally built back in 1937 in an Art Deco style and it still retains that original character whilst the impressive refurbishment provides modern office accommodation with central heating, perimeter trunking, suspended ceilings and lighting and carpeting throughout. The three new occupiers are Tai Ping Carpets UK – the UK arm of one of Asia’s leading soft furnishings companies, leading hardwood flooring company Boen UK Ltd, whose parent company is Norwegian and Worcestershire County Council Social Services Department.
Adam Jones, Managing Director of Tai Ping Carpets UK Ltd says now they are in, they are very happy with their new home: “The offices are excellent – we’re already very happy here. Kidderminster will become a very important place for our company and of course its heritage in the UK carpet industry makes it a logical location for us.”
Peter Minns of Boen UK Ltd was also quick to see the links between the flooring products his company are famous for producing and the traditional industry of the town: “Whilst hardwood flooring and carpets offer very different flooring solutions, it’s interesting that two of three occupiers of this building that was once home to a traditional carpet manufacturer, operate in the floor coverings sector. We too are delighted with the new offices and feel the move to Kidderminster was a good one for us.”
Elgar House sits adjacent to its sister building on the development – Campion House – which is already let to a number of local and national businesses. Letting agent KWB’s Duncan Scott says this is good news for Kidderminster: “There have not been many opportunities to take high quality refurbished offices like these in Kidderminster and we knew from the interest we had in Campion House, that Elgar House would be a popular home for at least one new occupier. We’re delighted with the take up and this means we have just the ground floor remaining available – in suites from 740 sq ft up to 8,566 sq ft for the whole of the ground floor.”
