In recent years, with help from its BID, Leamington Spa has earned the name ‘Silicon Spa’, as it has become an epicentre for the West Midlands’ growing computer games industry. Many of the best-known games titles in the world were created by a cluster of 2,500 games developers in over 50 companies that operate in the gaming sector in and around Leamington Spa. The distinctive heritage and culture of ‘Silicon Spa’ has developed over more than two decades through a focus on quality and creativity.

Leamington Spa town is set to see substantial investment and rejuvenation. The council, working in association with Public Sector plc, has planned a £50 million program of redevelopment, which will see the construction of a new council building – bringing all services and 350 jobs into the town centre – a multi-storey car park, and 40 private apartments in the Covent Garden area of central Leamington Spa.
