KWB returns favour to its long-term IT partner

KWB has found a new home on Bishops Court, Birmingham Business Park, for the IT company that has supported them for more than 30 years, allowing it to take on at least a dozen new staff.

Air IT has taken almost 2,800 sq ft at 6260 Bishops Court on Birmingham Business Park, and regional director, Andrew Penlington says everyone is delighted by the open-plan design, particularly the scope it offers for team working.

“We’d been in a 1,500 sq ft office in System House in Yardley since 1987, and to be honest, as we’d grown over the years, it eventually just wasn’t suitable for a company in our sector because collaboration is everything in IT,” Andy said.

“However, we didn’t want to move to somewhere too far away, or take a lease on an office that was too large, and it was a question of finding the right balance.

“We’ve known KWB’s John Bryce for so long that he’s become a family friend, and so we asked if his director of office agency, Malcolm Jones, could find us suitable space.

”Bishops Court was just right for us and our clients. We’ve got room to expand, and Malcolm’s now in advanced negotiations for a local company to take our old space, so everything has really worked out well.”

John Bryce, Director of KWB, was equally pleased, particularly given the decades of IT support KWB has received from Andrew and his team.

John said: “They’ve been there when we needed them the most, through recessions and booms, and now they’re the regional division of Air IT – they really needed somewhere new.

“It’s crucial to find trusted advisors in the professional services community, and Andrew has helped us navigate through a sea change of innovation in IT, and to keep us both up-to-date and fully functioning at all times.

“It can’t always be true that good things happen to good people, whether it’s professional or personal, but I couldn’t be more pleased that this move has gone through smoothly, that the office disposal in Yardley will be going through legals this month and that Air IT is expanding too.”

Andrew concluded: “We’ve got 16 staff at the moment, but the office will accommodate 28, and I’d expect to have all the new people in place over the next three to six months.”
