Largest letting of office space at Birmingham Business Park for 2 years

Part of BCA Europe (British Car Auctions), which has an annual turnover of over £4 billion and is Europe’s largest vehicle remarketing company, BCA Logistics is the UK’s largest provider of logistics solutions in the automotive sector. The move has come on the back of two years sustained growth for the company, in which they saw volumes increase by around 30%. Last month BCA announced the acquisition of NKL Automotive Ltd, the vehicle logistics specialists based in Goole, Yorkshire which has become part of BCA Logistics.

3700 Parkside offices on Birmingham Business Park have benefitted from a comprehensive refurbishment programme which includes a contemporary reception area, raised access floors, suspended ceilings and LG7 compliant lighting. They provide BCA Logistics with a purpose-built headquarters and technology hub to control the company’s fast growing logistics business, which currently handles over a quarter of a million moves annually. Office space at Birmingham Business Park offers easy access to the Midlands motorway network with both the M6 and M42 motorways within a mile.

Speaking of the office relocation of 110 staff from Measham and Bordesley Green in Birmingham to superior office space at Birmingham Business Park, Jamie Carr, Operations Director of BCA Logistics, explained: “BCA’s new headquarters and technology centre provide us with the flexibility for future growth and expansion to meet and exceed the needs of our customers as we increase our market share and deliver new services in the vehicle logistics market.

“This superb new facility allows us to centralise a number of operational functions, which will provide improved service to customers through greater efficiencies and more effective and timely communication with every area of BCA’s business. Logistics fulfilment is a key part of our strategy to develop and deliver market leading remarketing solutions for our customers.”

Significant improvement in demand for offices at Birmingham Business Park

The Solihull office space letting represents the latest of a recent number of transactions which have completed on Birmingham Business Park. Others include the sale of 1500 and 1700 Solihull Parkway to Waterloo Housing, totalling 20,000 sq ft across the two buildings purchased. Other leasehold transactions for office space at Birmingham Business Park include lettings to engineering recruitment and design company Morson Group, and Executive Resource Group, both at Park Square; and Grob Machine Tools UK within the Waterside Centre.

These office space lettings signify a significant improvement in occupier demand for Birmingham Business Park. The Park has universal appeal to a broad range of businesses across a wide variety of sectors, which are attracted by its central location to the motorway network and proximity to Birmingham Airport.

Mark Robinson, Partner at KWB Office Property Specialists, commented: “Building 3700 Parkside represents high quality but competitively priced office space at Birmingham Business Park and meets the needs of BCA for single floorplated, efficient office accommodation. I’m delighted to have been party to the largest letting on the Business Park for two years and, from discussions we are already having with other potential occupiers, demand for the Park is likely to continue during the course of 2013.”

BCA Logistics worked with the business investment team at Solihull Council to find its new headquarters and was represented in the office space acquisition by Brown & Lee.
