Legal & General has let a 20,000 sq ft industrial unit Birmingham to Howdens Joinery, one of the UK’s largest manufacturers and suppliers of fitted kitchens.
Unit 2 at Perry Park Industrial Estate, located on the Walsall Road in Birmingham, has been let to Howdens on a new 15-year lease. KWB Commercial property agents Birmingham and Darby Keye acted as joint agents on behalf of Legal & General’s Industrial Property Investment Fund.
Unit 2 Perry Park is a 19,946 sq ft modern steel portal frame industrial unit with 5.25 m eaves height. It is situated on the A34 main route from Junction 7 of the M6 to Birmingham city centre, in an established trade location. Selco Builders Warehouse is also located on Perry Park Industrial Estate. The industrial unit was extensively refurbished and let quickly after the completion of the works.
A trade-only business established in 1995, Howdens operates 640 depots across the UK and last year supplied over 400,000 kitchens, 2.5 million doors and 770,000 appliances to UK homes.
Kenny Allan, Director of Industrial Agency at KWB, says: “We are delighted to help Legal & General’s Industrial Property Investment Fund in the marketing of this excellent building, and it is great to secure a tenant of the calibre of Howdens. It speaks volumes for the quality of the industrial unit and its location. There was fierce competition for this unit and we are confident that Howdens will have a successful future at Perry Park.”
KWB and Darby Keye are also marketing industrial units Birmingham of 5,000 sq ft, 11,000 sq ft and 18,000 sq ft on behalf of Legal & General’s Industrial Property Investment Fund less than one mile from Perry Park at Tamebridge Industrial Estate. These units are suitable for industrial, warehousing and trade counter use.
Tamebridge Industrial Estate provides an attractive well located and secure working environment with a variety of occupiers including distribution, manufacturing, trade counter and office users.
