KWB acquires offices in Solihull for Thomas & Young accountants
Established in 1982 and one of the larger accountancy practices outside of Birmingham city centre, Thomas & Young comprises seven partners and a team of forty-five professional staff dedicated to providing high quality tax, business and accountancy advice and services.
Located on the main Stratford Road in Shirley, approximately 100 yards from Thomas & Young’s current Solihull offices, where they have been based for over 25 years, Carleton House comprises 11,539 sq ft including the tenancy of Bath Store on the ground floor.
Thomas & Young will relocate to their new Solihull offices in the Autumn once they have completed the refurbishment and interior fit out. They will be initially occupying 5,500 sq ft of office space and creating in the remaining 3,500 sq ft a Solihull serviced office centre for clients and other local companies operating in financial services or wanting to be associated with the Thomas & Young practice.
Speaking of the office space acquisition, Charles Thomas, Senior Partner of Thomas & Young, said: “KWB was proactive in bringing us the opportunity of buying the freehold site for Carleton House which provides us with a long term base for the future, giving us room to expand and much better car parking provision. In our 30th year of business, it also gives us an improved presence on the Stratford Road and a more professional working environment for both staff and visiting clients. We’re also looking forward to creating a financial and business hub with clients and other like-minded companies within our Solihull serviced office centre.”
John Bryce, Partner of KWB Office Property Specialists, said: “This office space acquisition follows a continuing trend of professional practices moving out of rented accommodation and taking advantage of the current marketplace to acquire new freehold offices.”
