KWB Property Management Expands Assisted Living Arm

KWB Property Management is expanding its assisted living arm following major new appointments at five sites across the Midlands and Herefordshire.

The new sites – all of which provide independent living for the over 55s – were all previously managed by Midland Heart and include Fernleigh Court in Solihull, Winchester Court in Stafford, Lupton Court in Bromsgrove, The Wickets in Burton-on-Trent and Walnut Gardens in Kington.

The dedicated Residential and Block Management team within the KWB Property Management will now oversee the operation, maintenance and security of these buildings, as well as supporting existing and future residents. KWB’s scheme managers and out-of-hours service will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to facilitate care and assistance as and when needed, in addition to organising and running activities that help foster a close-knit community.

Sam Lawrence, Managing Director of KWB Property Management, said: “Following our success managing Timber Mill Court, an assisted living scheme in Harborne, we are thrilled to have been appointed to manage four new assisted living sites across the Midlands, as well as one in Kington in Herefordshire.

“These sites represent 50% of those that have been resigned by Midland Heart to date – an accomplishment that our team is very proud of.

“Moving forward, we are hopeful about working with more of the 35 former Midland Heart developments, as well as expanding into other assisted living ventures. It’s an exciting time for KWB Property Management as we grow this area of the business.”

Existing scheme managers at each of the five sites have been offered the opportunity to remain in their positions and become KWB employees. They will be trained on the company’s CAFM system, Risk Management System and become IOSH qualified. Each development will also have its own management committee, which will have the ability to make decisions about the day-to-day running of the site, under guidance from the wider KWB team.

Sam continued: “In recent weeks, our teams have been working closely with the existing scheme managers. We understand the importance of communication with residents and will be taking on board feedback and recommendations so that we can deliver a service that we are all incredibly proud of.

“Our team will also be advising and overseeing building improvement works at most of the new sites.”
