KWB’s Head of Property Management, Sam Lawrence, has completed the Prologis 100 charity bike ride – tackling a tough 100km route through the Oxfordshire countryside.

The event, which started and finished at The Holt Hotel in Steeple Aston, brought together almost 200 participants who either cycled 100 miles, 100km or took part in a 100-furlong walk. Together, they raised more than £75,000 for a wide range of charitable causes.

Sam opted for the 100km ride, which packed in over 4,400 feet of climbing, made all the more challenging by rain, wind and typically British conditions. Despite the weather, the day ended on a high with the chance to reconnect with friends and colleagues from across the property sector over food and a well-earned drink, all generously laid on by Prologis who have raised over £500,000 during the 16 rides they have put on.

The Prologis 100 charity bike ride, which is organised by Discover Adventure on behalf of Prologis, is just one of a number of charity rides that Sam has taken part in over the years. These include the Dragon Ride in Wales for Macmillan Cancer Support and Alzheimer’s Research four times, as well as the 100-mile Birmingham and Midlands Velo rides.

Sam said: “The Prologis 100 is always a brilliant event – a proper challenge on the bike, but also a fantastic way to raise money for charity and catch up with people from across the industry. The weather made it tough going this year, but that’s all part of the fun – and the atmosphere and hospitality afterwards more than made up for it.”
