LAS trebles space to 12,000 sq ft at TriGate offices, Birmingham

LAS, who has now relocated to the entire 5th floor following a comprehensive refurbishment for them, first moved to the Quinton area of Birmingham in 2007, originally taking just 300 sq ft at Flexibase, Nurton’s serviced office facility. Since then, LAS has expanded its operation several times, developing what it believes to be the market-leading building repair solution in the UK insurance market.

Darren Cooper, Chief Executive of LAS, says: “The company’s expansion is due to business growth, contract wins and a number of new hires. TriGate is ideal because it is well-located and allows us to design an office environment which fits our future needs. Moreover, although LAS works throughout the UK, we are a Birmingham company and are proud of our roots in the local community.”

TriGate’s success with tenants, marked also recently by BskyB taking c. 1,500 sq ft at the offices, has led Nurton to invest further in the landmark building, expanding the car park to create 38 additional spaces and improve the frontage. An independent gym operator called Trigate Fitness.co.uk has also been put in place to add value and draw in commuters on their way into and out of Birmingham.

Positioned on a prominent corner position on the arterial Hagley Road West and Wolverhampton Road crossroads, TriGate is a striking blue and white clad, tri-winged 73,000 sq ft building, just a short distance from the city centre and close to Harborne and Edgbaston.

Keith Simkins from Nurton Developments said: “Our aim with TriGate has always been to offer city centre standard accommodation without the price tag. We have continually sought to invest and enhance the facilities to give fresh impetus to existing tenants and potential occupiers to develop a base with us. The serviced office facility has provided a solid start for many fledgling companies looking to grow, as demonstrated by LAS.”

Mark Robinson, Partner at KWB Office Property Specialists and joint commercial property agents with Jones Lang LaSalle for TriGate, said: ”We are delighted to see LAS expand in TriGate. There is no better barometer for a building’s success than for its existing occupiers to continue and, indeed, grow their occupation within it. With the recent addition of BskyB this further highlights TriGate as a well-positioned, well priced option for occupiers that require good access to both Birmingham city centre and the motorway network.”
