Birmingham commercial property agents, KWB and Cushman & Wakefield have let 4.71 acres of open storage land Aldridge in the West Midlands to an international refrigeration company, Fridge To Go.

Fridge To Go has taken a nine-year lease on the open storage land Aldridge, which is situated on Middlemore Lane West, at a rent of £100,000 per annum. Part of international refrigeration company Petit Forestier, Fridge To Go plans to invest £250,000 in the site, which it will use for storage of its refrigerated vehicles. The site is fully fenced with 24-hour security and access. Fridge To Go is relocating its vehicle storage from a site in Birmingham.

The West Midlands offers some of the most logistically ideal locations in the country for companies that operate nationally to base their headquarters or depots. This is because locations, such as Aldridge, are within the country’s logistics ‘Golden Triangle’. The Golden Triangle spans the key cities of the Midlands, all of which are within a day’s drive of 80% of the country’s population.

Kenny Allan, Director of the industrial agency at KWB, pictured right, advised landlord PSST Ltd, while BNP Paribas Real Estate acted for Fridge To Go.

Kenny Allan, said: “The scarcity of good open storage sites, and the good access from Middlemore Lane to both the M6 and the M6 Toll, persuaded Fridge To Go to choose our site. It is also closer to its UK headquarters in Dordon, near Tamworth.”

KWB recommends that any companies with upcoming lease events, planned expansions or relocations, should consider their storage and depot locations well in advance, in order to avoid disappointment. As such, they should contact KWB’s industrial agency for advice on potential options, as soon as possible.
