USN goes from strength to strength, as KWB helps them expand into offices in Longbridge
The success story continues for USN, the nutritional supplements company, which is headed by Jason Oakley, who has taken the company from a team of 4 working in serviced offices, to a team 60 people strong – in just 6 years.
As official sports supplement partner of England Rugby League, USN provides the England team with some of the world’s most cutting-edge sports nutrition and bodybuilding products.
Relocating them from Avon House in Bromsgrove, KWB has found USN 6,300 sq ft of new offices in Longbridge that can house their growing workforce, and also accommodate any subsequent requirements for additional office space. The new offices are also set to undergo a highly customised fit-out – including a staff gym, with KWB Workplace acting as USN’s office space design and move management consultants.
USN’s relocation from 3,000 sq ft within Avon House offices in Bromsgrove to the brand new Seven House offices in Longbridge, represents an expansion that more than doubles the footprint of their previous workspace. The new offices are part of St Modwen’s redevelopment of Longbridge town, soon set to have a huge boost in the form of new retail outlets to be built, including the largest Marks & Spencer store in the Midlands.
KWB’s Malcolm Jones said: “With the current drought of high quality office space in Bromsgrove and the surrounding area, we have been quite fortunate in our work with USN. After liaising with them on their requirements for new office space, we successfully identified a rare opportunity to secure new high quality offices, in nearby Longbridge, which can also accommodate their foreseeable expansion.
“This is an ideal time for USN to relocate to Longbridge. They’re likely to benefit in various ways from the investment pouring into the area. Local amenities are set to increase dramatically with St Modwen’s scheduled retail plans and the existing communication links are great. Longbridge is just a few minutes’ drive from junction 4 of the M5 and by car, or by train from Longbridge station, only 25 minutes from Birmingham City Centre.”
Jason Oakley, USN’s Managing Director, said: “We’re really happy with our new offices. We needed more space to accommodate our expansion and we now have workspace purpose-built for our needs. Longbridge is a great location for us. The transport links, amenities and hotels make it not only ideal for our staff but for visiting clients, our sales team and European team members too.”
KWB Workplace acted as consultants on the fit-out of the offices, bringing them in line with USN’s custom specifications and creating a workspace that complements their corporate identity. This fit-out notably includes the installation of an office gym, a request from USN as part of their bespoke briefing.
Adrian Southall, Managing Director of KWB Workplace said: “We’ve been working alongside USN on their new offices in Longbridge through the whole process of fit-out. From design and specification to procurement and management, we’ve ensured the job has been completed to exacting standards with great cost efficiency, and we’re pleased with the results we’ve achieved at Seven House.
“USN’s strong, and growing brand, has shaped this new workspace, and rightfully so. We’ve created an office designed with expansion in mind, that works well for their staff and, in keeping with the culture of the company, the newly installed gym is a great addition to their staff amenities.“
On the customisation and fit-out of the offices, Jason Oakley said: “We’re delighted to have the gym installed within the office. Aside from an obvious talking point for visitors, our staff tend to be actively fitness conscious. They subscribe to the ethos of this company. Supplying them with this kind of onsite facility, accompanied by a compatible flexi-time system to allow it to be used, was a logical decision made for the convenience, health and general wellbeing of our staff. Our new larger kitchen and breakout area has been created for the exact same reasons.”
