A review of KWB’s 2022
The KWB 2022 Review is here! Take a read to see what our teams across office and industrial agency, property management, office design and fit out and more have been working on this year.
“It’s been a year of real success for all divisions at KWB in 2022,” said John Bryce, Director of KWB. “I extend our thanks to clients, colleagues, and friends for all your support.
“What a relief it was to finally be able to attend in-person meetings and events again, with the relaxing of COVID rules at the start of the year.
“This was underlined by the incredible sight of over five million people visiting our home city of Birmingham during the Commonwealth Games. We were proud to play our part, with Director Martin Cook working with West Midlands Combined Authority to secure sites for the park and ride service.”
New offices, new outlooks
COVID-19 continues to be a big influence on the Midlands property market. As reported in our quarterly office research, businesses are re-evaluating their workspace, which has kept John Bryce, Malcolm Jones and Nigel Tripp in the Office Agency team very busy. We’ve secured new offices for a range of occupiers including ArcelorMittal at Friars Gate in Solihull, Talbots Law at Waterfront Business Park in Brierley Hill and Newson Health at Bridgeway House, Stratford-upon-Avon.
Adrian Southall of KWB Workplace has supported some of these occupiers with their relocation and managed the new office design and fit out, while expertly ensuring minimal disruption to employees and systems.
Warehouses secure occupiers
The surge in online retail and logistics has also meant a busy year for our Industrial Agency led by Kenny Allan. The team brokered many deals for land and industrial units across the Midlands, including Holbrook Park in Coventry, Tamebridge Industrial Park and Castle Bromwich Trade Park in Birmingham, and Middlemore Lane West in Walsall.
Development well managed
Led by Nicola Fagan, our Residential Property Management team has also continued to build its portfolio. New appointments include managing the prestigious Queens College Chambers in Birmingham City Centre and Platinum Apartments in the Jewellery Quarter.
Corporate Cleaning cleans up
KWB Corporate Cleaning is going from strength to strength. Sales director, Jim Duffy was appointed at the start of the year and James Healing has been recently promoted to Head of Operations. With the support of hundreds of brilliant cleaning staff, the team has won an amazing 21 new contracts and has a healthy pipeline entering 2023. They also achieved ISO accreditations for their Environment, Health & Safety and Quality Management systems.
Corporate Cleaning has also recently strengthened its operations management and mobile specialist teams, with additional staff ensuring cover and specialist services for its growing portfolio.
Looking forward – not down!
Signing off on the KWB 2022 Review, John said: “From all of us at KWB, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We look forward to supporting our clients in the 12 months to come.
“With a great 2022 nearly behind us, KWB starts 2023 on a very strong footing. Speaking of which, our abseil down The Bank in Birmingham city centre in aid of Edward’s Trust is back for 2023!”
Taking place on Friday 30 June 2023, this time we’re challenging fundraisers to descend Tower 2, which is 33 storeys and over 100 metres tall. Interest is high, so please email organiser and Office Manager Joanne Spencer at jspencer@kwboffice.com.
