KWB’s head of professional services, Martin Cook explains,”I have advised Les Croupiers over several years on a range of property matters including Valuation, Development, Landlord, Tenant and Business rates. We started the search for new premises to relocate their casino from St Mary Street due to the increasing constraints of their existing premises in terms of location and expansion of the facilities.” He added, “I identified the Cardiff City Stadium as being a suitable location, at which point the overall development was in the early stages of construction. The shopping park seemed the ideal choice with its complementary uses and high footfall from both shoppers and people attending events at the stadium which will be home to both the Cardiff City Football Club and Cardiff Rugby club, so something on virtually every weekend. I am delighted that they have found somewhere that now meets all their criteria and I look forward to the grand opening in March 2010.”

Big plans are currently underway to add a further 10,000 sq ft of mezzanine level to the Capital Shopping Park location, which when completed will see Les Croupiers casino space of 20,000 sq ft. This will mean bigger gaming areas for traditional games such as black jack and roulette and include 17 poker tables and 28 tables dedicated solely to the Chinese game Mah-jong. Les Croupiers will also be incorporating a Chinese restaurant into its premises as well as a sports bar with big screens, where Cardiff City and Cardiff Blues fans can go before and after games at the new stadium to watch other live sporting events.
