KWB Workplace delivers flawless office relocation
KWB Workplace has been hailed for its flawless office relocation of Cat Financial’s UK headquarters to new office space in Solihull, by Cat Financial Finance Director, Russell Arnott.
Acting on behalf of Cat Financial, KWB Workplace acquired 13,800 sq ft of new office space at Solihull’s Friars Gate, designed the office space, oversaw the fit out and managed the office removals process for Cat Financial, as it relocated from The Phoenix Building, Blythe Valley Park.
In praising the company for its unique integrated service on the six-figure turnkey project, Russell Arnott said: “The whole process was smooth and flawless. We approached KWB Workplace initially when we knew we needed larger premises to cope with our business growth. We had worked with them before when they acquired our Blythe Valley Park offices and they managed the office design, fit out and move, so we were confident that we would receive outstanding service.
“We discussed our office needs for the next 10 years and KWB Workplace identified office space in and around Solihull which would best meet our requirements. When we were content with their proposal, they negotiated for and acquired the office space at Friars Gate and then managed every element of moving our business until we were settled and happy in our new offices. It’s a unique and very beneficial service.”
Part of the worldwide Caterpillar Inc., Cat Financial offers finance solutions to the company’s customers and dealers for Caterpillar machinery and engines, solar gas turbines, and other equipment and marine vessels. It is a global operation with its UK headquarters in Solihull.
Adrian Southall, Director of KWB Workplace, said: “Because we are involved in managing an entire project from initial consultation to post-move snagging, we consider how all the elements will work together to reduce the costs, minimise business disruption and speed up the office relocation for our clients.
“We do not just look at the acquisition and agree the optimum lease terms like a commercial property agent, but think how else we can reduce budget. For Cat Financial, we ensured that the landlord’s refurbishment works were completed to our client’s specifications and we negotiated an early end to Cat Financial’s lease at Blythe Valley Park, reducing their liability for dilapidations, both of which generated significant savings.
“As a project manager, rather than an office supply company, we could also propose that Cat Financial’s existing office furniture could be re-assembled in the new offices, rather than buying new, again saving money.”
Cat Financial has moved into its new offices in Solihull, but KWB Workplace will continue to work with the company for more than a year after the office relocation.
Adrian Southall continued: “As Cat Financial settles into its new offices, we are now on hand to oversee the rectification of any potential latent defects that may occur within the first 12 months, before signing off final completion and releasing retention of monies to contractors.”
