Yes … we’re hiring at KWB – Property Management Surveyor vacancy

Back to news list

It gives me great pleasure to reveal that we’re recruiting for a Property Management Surveyor vacancy in Birmingham. I must confess, I didn’t expect to be saying that so early in 2021.

KWB’s commercial property management arm has performed outstandingly throughout the pandemic, liaising efficiently between clients, landlords and tenants, resolving issues both virtually and in person, and also dovetailing their efforts with our tremendous support staff.

I was impressed by their hard work and dedication, and so it seems were others, as we were recently asked to manage almost 230,000 sq ft of space at Brierley Hill for Waterfront Property Investment Trust LLP. It’s a sizeable, successful and well-established business park with a wide range of occupiers (from the Royal Mail to the West Midlands Ambulance Service, and from HMRC to an optical centre providing laser surgery) who have an equally wide range of requirements.

Our team specialises in looking after such locations across the region. Amongst our other clients, is the £14m Sinclair Retail Park, built in Evesham by Ashfield Land, and an 80,000 sq ft R&D campus operated by Changan UK, and spread across five buildings at Birmingham Business Park.

KWB also manages 18,000 sq ft of commercial space at Colmore Place in the heart of Birmingham’s Central Business District, and Waterloo House, not far away and a landmark since it was built in 1926. Its original owners still control that property, and brought us in to underpin their management strategy.

Our commercial property portfolio is diverse by niche, location and ownership model, so our property management surveyors are constantly challenged to resolve an array of random issues facing clients and tenants, as well as to co-ordinate proactive policies that prevent predictable challenges from arising.

We already have a great and very reliable team, but we’re looking to expand our client portfolio and so the first stage is to find a new colleague to join us here in Newhall Street.

For our Property Management Surveyor vacancy, we’d prefer to recruit an experienced surveyor. However, enthusiastic and committed individuals with the relevant qualifications will be given a chance to impress.

Our accounts team successfully bedded in Yardi’s web-based platform, Voyager, during Q4 2020, so expertise with that software guarantees a brownie point.

The final decision will be as much about your personality as your CV, as KWB’s strength has always been founded on teamwork, so if you’re interested, drop me an email at jbryce@kwboffice.com.
